Amid the tension between Iran and Israel, the United States prepares for nuclear talks with Iran next week, hopes are rising globally for stability in West Asia. U.S. President Donald Trump has even suggested the possibility of reaching a deal.

Speaking at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in The Hague on Wednesday, President Donald Trump stated that he does not expect Iran to resume its nuclear weapons program.

He further noted that the U.S. would likely seek a firm commitment from Iran to end its nuclear ambitions during the upcoming negotiations and credited recent U.S. strikes on Iran with quickly ending the conflict between Tel Aviv and Tehran.

Iran has consistently denied Western allegations of pursuing nuclear weapons.

Donald Trump expressed optimism that Iran would choose diplomacy over conflict, though he did not share details about the talks’ venue or participants.

In addition to nuclear issues, oil diplomacy remains crucial. While U.S. President continues to enforce maximum pressure on Iran—including restrictions on its oil exports—he indicated a possible relaxation in enforcement aimed at supporting Iran’s rebuilding efforts.

Recently, Donald Trump imposed sanctions on several of China’s independent “teapot” refineries and port terminal operators for their purchases of Iranian oil.
