In the crowded weekend in Delhi, everybody wants to get lost him/her-self in an evening to relax and rejuvenate for the next/coming week to chase the as usual mechanical 10-6 job. Such a mesmerizing evening was witnessed at the Delhi’s Habitat Centre recently.
The 25th ‘Barabati Nrutyotsaba’, a significant cultural extravaganza, graced at the World Habitat Center, New Delhi, extending the legacy from its birthplace, the millennium city of Cuttack. The festival, which is the brain chilled of renowned Guru Ashis Kumar Das, rooted in the historical “fort” city of Cuttack and now mirroring its presence in New Delhi, showcases a rich tapestry of national and international artistic talent.
Organized by Odissi Nrutya Mandal in association with Natasutra Research Public Charitable Trust, the event aimed to promote and preserve India’s diverse classical dance forms. The silver jubilee edition presented an impressive lineup of performances.
The audience was enthralled by a captivating Odissi duet by the esteemed Padma Shri Geeta Mahalik, a vibrant Mohiniyattam dance by Jayaprabha Menon & Group, and expressive Odissi renditions by Guru Sasmita Panda & Rupa Pal, along with a group performance by Odissi Nrutya Mandal. The evening also featured a melodious song by Priyanshi Jena.
