On the 40th anniversary of the Air India Flight 182 (Kanishka) bombing, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, urged the global community to unite against terrorism. Speaking at a memorial event, the minister stressed the need for sustained, collective efforts beyond occasional acts of remembrance.

The minister recalled the tragic bombing on June 23, 1985, when a bomb planted by Canada-based terrorists destroyed the aircraft mid-air, killing all 329 passengers, including over 80 children. He described the attack as a calculated act by fringe elements aiming to divide India.
