MNRE Launches ₹2.3 Cr Start-Up Challenge to Boost Rooftop Solar Innovation

Winners will also gain incubation support, pilot implementation opportunities, and mentorship from domain experts and investors

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has launched Innovative Projects Start-Up Challenge to Accelerate Rooftop Solar and Distributed Renewable Energy Innovations.

The unique national innovation challenge aims to identify and support breakthrough solutions for India’s rooftop solar and distributed energy ecosystem. The Start-Up Challenge seeks applications from innovators and startups in India, focusing on four key categories- Affordability, Resilience, Inclusivity and Environmental Sustainability.

The selected innovators will compete for a total prize pool of 2.3 crore rupees, including 1 crore rupees for 1st Prize, 50 lakh rupees for 2nd Prize, 30 lakh rupees for 3rd Prize, and 10 Consolation Prizes of 5 lakh rupees each.

Winners will also gain incubation support, pilot implementation opportunities, and mentorship from domain experts and investors. Applications can be submitted through Startup India’s Website and the last date to apply in this challenge is 20th August.
