President Droupadi Murmu Inaugurates Rashtrapati Niketan in Dehradun

The President of India Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the newly constructed Rashtrapati Niketan on Rajpur Road in Dehradun. She was accompanied by Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during the inauguration.

Rashtrapati Niketan, along with the nearby Rashtrapati Tapovan, will be opened to the public for viewing starting June 24, 2025. The move is aimed at enhancing public access to institutions connected with the President of India and promoting civic awareness.

During her visit, the President also toured the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities. She interacted with students, reviewed infrastructure, and underlined the importance of inclusive education and accessible public spaces.

The visit reflected the government’s continued focus on

inclusive development and the empowerment of persons with disabilities. President Murmu emphasized that equal opportunities must be central to India’s growth and progress.

Later in the evening, the President will also release a commemorative postage stamp celebrating 125 years of Raj Bhavan, Nainital. This release will mark a tribute to the architectural and administrative legacy of the heritage institution.

President Murmu is in Uttarakhand until June 21. On International Yoga Day, she will participate in a mass yoga demonstration at the Uttarakhand State Police Line Maidan in Dehradun, promoting the message of wellness and harmony.
