Russia President Vladimir Putin stated on Thursday that he is prepared to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, but only during the “final phase” of negotiations aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict.

During a roundtable discussion with international editors on Wednesday, Putin reiterated Russia’s desire to end the war in Ukraine “as soon as possible” through peaceful means.

However, he questioned Zelenskyy’s legitimacy as a representative of Ukraine, suggesting that any negotiations would require the involvement of individuals authorized to sign agreements on behalf of the Ukrainian state.

The Russia-Ukraine war continues for more than 3 years till date.
