Iran has denied pursuing nuclear weapons, reiterating its right to nuclear technology for peaceful purposes under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). The statement comes as tensions escalate following Israeli military action.

Israeli forces are in the fifth day of Operation “Rising Lion”, targeting what they claim are Iran’s nuclear, ballistic missile, and command infrastructure.

Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin, Israeli Army Spokesperson stated, “We are now on day five of Operation ‘Rising Lion.’ We’ve struck deep, hitting Iran’s nuclear, ballistic and command capabilities. The Iranian regime has spent years getting closer to a nuclear weapon… Our mission is clear – to remove the threat at its source.”

Israel accuses Iran of covertly advancing toward nuclear weapons capability, while Tehran insists its nuclear activities remain peaceful.
