U.S. President Donald Trump has unexpectedly departed from the G7 Summit taking place in Canada, sparking speculation about the reason for his sudden return to Washington, D.C.

French President Emmanuel Macron claimed that Trump left the summit to focus on brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. However, Trump strongly denied this in a social media post.

“Publicity-seeking President Emmanuel Macron of France mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit in Canada to go back to D.C. to work on a ‘ceasefire’ between Israel and Iran. Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a ceasefire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay tuned!” Trump posted.

The exact reason for President Trump’s return has not yet been officially disclosed.
