In the United States, three people were killed when teenager fired during Utah’s WestFest on 15 June 2025. The victims included an 18-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, and an eight-month-old baby, according to police.

Authorities reported that an argument broke out between two groups. When police approached to intervene, a 16-year-old suspect fired a gun. The suspect has since been taken into custody.

WestFest is an annual celebration commemorating the founding of West Valley City and recognizing the diverse cultures represented throughout the city. Normally the Fest takes place in the month of June with carnival, fireworks, parade, and other activities. This year it was observed from 12-15 June.
