PM Modi lands in Cyprus, gets warm welcome from President Christodoulides

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Cyprus on 15 June 15, on the first leg of his three-nation tour. He was received at the airport with a grand welcome by the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides. This visit holds special significance, as it marks the first visit to Cyprus by an Indian Prime Minister in over two decades.

After arriving, Prime Minister Modi posted photos on ‘X’, expressing gratitude to President Christodoulides. He wrote: “Landed in Cyprus. My gratitude to the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides for the special gesture of welcoming me at the airport. This visit will add significant momentum to India-Cyprus relations, especially in areas like trade, investment and more.”

PM Modi thanked the Indian community for the affection. In X, he shared, “India will keep working to deepen ties with Cyprus in the times to come.”
