NCSC directs the State governments to take action against officials concerned in incidents of atrocities

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes today directed the State governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to take action against officials concerned in incidents of atrocities and submit action taken reports within 15 days. The commission has taken up suo moto incidents of derogatory remarks of a senior IAS officer against students of SC residential welfare school and thrashing of an Scheduled Caste boy on the road by a police official in Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana Social Welfare Department Principal secretary Sridhar and Andhra Pradesh official Tripathi appeared before the Commission. Commission Member, Vaddepalli Ramchander held hearing over the incidents in Hyderabad.  Addressing the media later Ramchander directed both the governments to take immediate action against the officials.
