BJP condemns the attack on Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home in Bangladesh

Patra says, "It is unacceptable"

BJP has condemned the incident of attack on Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral home in Bangladesh terming it a pre-planned act of violence.  Briefing media in New Delhi today, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was not an ordinary person but a renowned personality in the world.

He said, it is unacceptable that such an international museum was not protected. He said, the interim government of Bangladesh has not taken any action so far and this is not appropriate.

Patra further said, this house was declared a museum by the Government of Bangladesh, preserving the legacy of India’s heritage where many of Rabindranath Tagore’s works were created. Patra said that BJP urges the world community which value morality, culture, and creativity to come together and strongly condemn the attack on Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral house.
