Home Minister Amit Shah expressed confidence that the BJP-AIADMK alliance will form the government in Tamil Nadu after the 2026 Assembly elections. Addressing a rally of state, district, and mandal level office bearers of the Tamil Nadu BJP in Madurai on 08 June 2025, Shah said the people of Tamil Nadu are ready to reject the current DMK government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. “I may live in Delhi, but my ears are always tuned to Tamil Nadu,” he declared.

The Home Minister launched a strong attack on the DMK government, calling it a “100 percent failure” due to widespread corruption.

He accused the regime of misusing funds in TASMAC irregularities, which could have been used to build classrooms in schools across the state. He also demanded that medical and engineering education be offered in Tamil, urging the state government to start these courses soon.

Earlier, the Union Minister chaired a meeting of the Tamil Nadu BJP state core committee and posted on social media that the people are fed up with the DMK’s corruption.

He urged party workers to reach every locality, neighborhood, and home to communicate the vision of a prosperous Tamil Nadu under the Modi-led NDA government. The Home Minister called on workers to intensify grassroots outreach ahead of the elections.

Before addressing the rally, the Home Minister visited the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple in Madurai to offer prayers. He paid homage to Tamil nationalist leader Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar, calling Madurai a city rich in more than 3,000 years of history and culture.
