NV Tech Reviews by B S Rout/ Tech Specialist
The OnePlus 13s enters the flagship arena with a clear message- raw power can still be a winner. Most of the reviewers call it an iphone from oneplus. But I would say it would be wrong if we say it.
Design & Build:
At first glance, the OnePlus 13s doesn’t scream for attention—and that’s its charm. The matte frosted glass back, available in muted but premium shades like Mist Silver and Obsidian Green, feels ultra-refined. The aluminum mid-frame offers solid grip and seamless transitions, with a refined camera island that no longer bulges awkwardly but blends cleanly into the chassis.
At 8.2mm thickness and under 185g, the phone feels feather-light yet robust—something few flagships manage today.
Display:
The 6.32-inch LTPO AMOLED With a QHD+ resolution, 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and peak brightness 800 nits, a High Brightness Mode (HBM) brightness of 1600 nits, and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. OnePlus’s new XDR Vision Boost makes HDR content pop without going overboard. Bezels are nearly invisible, making it immersive without being oversized. But sadly there is no ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, it’s an optical sensor
Performance:
Powered by the Snapdragon Elite, paired with LPDDR5X RAM (up to 16GB) and UFS 4.0 storage, it’s the thermal management that impresses most. Even under prolonged stress, heat dissipation is handled gracefully, thanks to OnePlus’s new Cryo-Thermal Chamber cooling system.
Camera:
The 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor now benefits from HyperSense AI processing, making it more adaptive to lighting conditions and skin tones. Night shots are sharper, dynamic range is vastly improved, and portrait mode finally nails edge detection.
The ultrawide (50MP) and telephoto (2x optical zoom) round off a versatile trio. While not Galaxy S-series level yet, the 13s closes the gap in real-world use.
Front camera remains at 32MP with solid low-light performance and support for 4K selfies.
Battery & Charging: Still a OnePlus Strength
A 5850mAh battery combined with excellent software optimization means a solid 1.5-day usage even with heavy tasks. The star of the show is the 80W SuperVOOC charging—0 to 100% in just under 28 minutes.
Software:
You get 4 years of major Android updates and 5 years of security patches, which is now the industry minimum for premium phones, but OnePlus delivers with confidence.
Extras:
# Dual stereo speakers are punchy, with Dolby Atmos support.
# X-axis haptics feel precise—texting and gaming get tactile joy.
# Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, eSIM + physical SIM combo, and full 5G band support make it future-ready.
No headphone jack—but that ship has sailed.
Final Review:
If you’re looking for a flagship that balances performance, build quality, software stability, and camera versatility—the OnePlus 13s is a top contender. It isn’t trying to out-spec the competition, it’s trying to out-feel them. And in most ways, it succeeds.
