India’s Operation Brahma is in full swing to help Myanmar and Thiland which were badly affected by 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck in 28 March 2025.
Till now 1,644 people have been confirmed dead and search operation is on for the survivors inside the debris.
Due to extensive damage, the Hospitals and Health facilities are hampered. Mobile surgical and Medical teams are required with immediate life-saving care, a UN statement said.
Meanwhile a 118-member team from the elite Shatrujeet Brigade Medical Responders, led by Lieutenant Colonel Jagneet Gill, took off to Myanmar shortly along with essential medical equipment and supplies.
The Airborne Angels Task Force is trained and equipped to deliver advanced medical and surgical care in disaster-affected zones.
As part of the operation, the Indian Army will establish a 60-bed Medical Treatment Centre to provide immediate care to those injured in the calamity.
Indian Navy ships INS Satpura & INS Savitri are also on their way carrying 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid and headed for the port of Yangon, according to a statement by Minister of External Affairs Dr S Jaishankar in account X
