DG, ITBP Flags off the Mountaineering Expedition

The expedition will be undertaken on the mountain peaks of ‘Makalu (Ht. 8485 Mtr)’ & ‘Annapurna (Ht. 8091 Mtr)’ in Nepal

DG, ITBP Rahul Rasgotra flagged off the mountaineering expedition today at ITBP Headquarters, New Delhi. He handed over the flag to the expedition-team-leader Anup Kumar, Deputy Commandant in the flag off ceremony.

The mountaineering expedition will be undertaken on the mountain peaks of ‘Makalu (Ht. 8485 Mtr)’ & ‘Annapurna (Ht. 8091 Mtr)’ located in Nepal

12 mountaineers of the ITBP force are participating in this expedition. Last year these mountaineers successfully climbed Force level mountaineering expedition ‘Mount Kamet (Ht. 7756 Mtr) and Mount Abi-Gamin (Ht. 7355 Mtr)’.

Addressing at the flag off ceremony Rahul Rasgotra said that ITBP has successfully conducted hundreds of national and international mountaineering expeditions in the past. Such expeditions enable the soldiers to perform duties in mountainous areas.

Abdul Ghani Mir, Additional Director General, Force Headquarters, other senior officers of the Force and officials of the expedition team were also present on the occasion.
