India beat New Zealand by 6 wickets in the final to lift the record 3rd Champions Trophy in 09 March 2025 in Dubai. Rohit Sharma led men in blue chased down the target of 252 set by the kiwis with one over remaining.

In the final at the Dubai International Stadium New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first. New Zealand able to score 251 with the loss of 7 wickets. Darrel Mitchell scored 63 runs in 101 balla with 3 boundaries.

Michael Bracewell scored breezy 53 of 40 balls. From India Varun Chakraborty and Kuldeep Yadav got 2 wickets piece.

India had a good start with opening the innings with Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill got 105 runs for the first wicket. Then there was some nervous moments when India lost three quick wickets including the wicket of Virat Kohli who got out for just 1 run.

The middle order able to stabilize the innings with Suresh Iyer, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya given good contribution.

In the end India won the final by 4 wickets. Indian captain Rohit Sharma was awarded with player of the match due to his stunning 76 runs off 83 balls with seven 4s and 3 huge 6s.

Rachin Ravindra from New Zealand got the player of the tournament award. With bat he was the highest run getter with 263 runs and with 3 wickets in the tournament.

It was India’s 7th ICC Title in total. They have won 2 World Cups, 2 World Cup T20s and 3 ICC Champions Trophy.

India had played the last 3 finals of the ICC Champions Trophy edition and this was India’ s second win.

Out of the last 24 matches India won 23 in the ICC Tournaments which is a record.
