The three-day-long rescue operation at Mana, Chamoli, led by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in coordination with the Indian Army and NDRF, has been successfully completed.

Despite heavy snowfall, extreme cold weather conditions and challenging terrain, rescue teams worked tirelessly to save 46 survivors. The rescue team saved lives using sniffer dogs, handheld thermal imagers, and advanced rescue techniques.

The survivors who were rescued, are under medical care. Final body of 8 casualties also recovered today.

The hurdles like harsh weather with freezing temperature of -12° C to -15°C did not stop the operation to safe precious lives.

Sniffer dogs and thermal imaging technology played a crucial role in locating trapped individuals.

The ITBP Himveers, along with Army and NDRF personnel, displayed extraordinary courage, coordination, and resilience throughout the operation, ensuring maximum lives were saved despite adverse conditions.

This successful mission underscores the commitment of ITBP and other forces in safeguarding lives, even in the harshest environments.
