At the Jaipur Literature Festival, it was a tornado of creativity! From tattoo printing and ajrak block printing to mesmerizing mehendi art, book readings and what not…
The JLF witnessed an inspiring session with Kailash Kher, where he launched his latest book ‘Teri Deewni-Shabdon Ke Paar’. The energy was electric when Sanjoy K. Roy took an abstract interview of popular singer Kailash Kher, about his book and early stage of his career in singing.
KK revealed how the book came to his mind to write it down. It was his fans who demanded it to listen through his book how the lyrics, words, emotions come, KK said.
He also thanked his supporters for demanding this book to write, which it inspired the most.
Kher spoke to the Live audience that his father, who was a priest, often goes for puja, yagyan where he recites some mythological and spiritual songs, bhajans. That was KK’s moment to attract and adhere to what was totally absorbed by him, the emotions of that moment. Then due to some personal reason he left his home to choose a career that God took him to.
Of course he did jobs in the printing press, got a heavy motor vehicle driving license by mistake and became a truck driver for some days.
At his early career he used to sing Ad jingles, Then slowly and steadily he put his foot onto the playback singer, before getting many rejections.
Overall it was not only an inspiring story of Kailash Kher, but the readers will definitely love and enjoy the emotions of the struggle, and the behind the scene story of 50 popular songs as well.
Applauding the live mind audience he highlighted the song ‘Teri Deewani’ which was not only a song, but it was full of emotions contained within and a landmark of 2006, he said.
