A three day special session of Maharashtra Assembly will begin from 7-9 December 2024. After taking oath Devendra Fadnavis on 5 December 2024, informed this to the media. He said that election of new assembly speaker will take place on 9 December during the 3 day special session.
Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the CM of Maharashtra for the third term. During the Oath taking ceremony Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained present. Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oath as the Deputy CM.
He assured that the next 5 years will be a stable Government and under his leadership the state will see politics of change, not revenge. We saw a lot of changes from 2019 to 2022. There will be no similar shocks in future, he said.
Fadnavis said, This Mahayuti Government will be a people oriented Government which would function with transparency and take the state forward on the path of development with speed.
Speaking on his candidature as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, he said “Role may have been changed but focus and direction remain same”.
On the issue of Leader of Opposition (LoP), Fadnavis said the newly elected speaker of the house will decide the matter, not the Government.
