Two of the sharpest brains in the world will be seen Title clash in the World Chess Championship in Singapore from today. Most talked about in the world is the Final between Ding Liren of China and D Gukesh of India.
The Head-to-Head stat shows in favour of D Liren, but recently D Gukesh had shown his Calmness to rise to fifth in the FIDE Rankings. On the other hand Liren had some issues of mental well-being and slipped to 23rd place.
Last year Liren was crowned with the World Champion but since then, not in top form. He beat the Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi with fluctuating fortunes in 2023.
Most predicted favours D Gukesh. If that happens he will be second after Viswanathan Anand to have that coveted trophy. Five times World Champion Anand also expects Gukesh to have the upperhand. But it will be the title of anybody who continues the lasting winning streak till 15 December 2024.
