New Delhi || 21-11-2024 At a ceremony held today in the Ganatantra Mandap,  Rashtrapati Bhavan, K. Sanjay Murthy was sworn in as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.  He made and subscribed to the oath of office before the President of India Droupadi Murmu.
K Sanjay Murthy is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and a 1989 batch IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre. He was serving as the Secretary of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education.
He worked for nearly 13 years in HP Government in various capacities. From 2002 to 2007 he worked in the Central Government under the Ministry of Environment & Forests and Ministry of Communication & IT. He also worked in the National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG), Hyderabad.
K Sanjay Murthy has vast experience in governance, administration and financial management. He is the son of former Amalapuram 11th Loksabha MP of Andhra Pradesh KSR Murthy.
K Sanjay Murthy succeeded Girish Chandra Murmu, who joined as the CAG of India in 2020.
