New Delhi || 12-11-2024 The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today applauded Pankaj Advani on winning Billiards Champion at World Snooker Championships 2024 as a phenomenal accomplishment.

In a post on X, PM Modi wrote:

“Phenomenal accomplishment! Congratulations to you. Your dedication, passion and commitment are outstanding. You have time and again demonstrated what excellence is. Your success will also keep inspiring upcoming athletes.@PankajAdvani247”

The Prince of Pune Pankaj Advani won his 28th World Title and 20th in Billiards at the IBSF Billiards Championship in Doha, Qatar on 9 November 2024. This was his 7th Consecutive World Title.

In the final he faced a solid challenge from Robert Hall of England, but at last won the championship 4-2. Singapore’s Peter Gilchrist and India’s Sourav Kothari shared the joint bronze medal.

After the win Pankaj Advani said,” It feels amazing to be on a winning streak of World Billiards titles. It was not easy though”. The competition was tough”. He further said “when I was not in full flow, it was my brother Shree, a sports psychologist , who came to the rescue. He helped me to stay in the present and kept the scoreboard ticking. This win is for my country and family.”
