New Delhi || 01-11-2024 Senior BJP leader and Nagrota MLA of Jammu & Kashmir Devender Singh Rana, passed away  on Thursday evening at a private hospital in Haryana’s Faridabad. He was 59.

MLA Rana, the brother of Union Minister Jitendra Singh, who came to politics from business as he built a multi-crore business firm JamKash Vehicleades, was a strong voice for Jammu’s Dogra community.

According to a Senior BJP leader, Rana was undergoing treatment at a Delhi-NCR hospital. Devendra Rana is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.

After getting the  news of Rana’s death, hundreds of people, including political leaders, gathered at his residence in Gandhinagar, Jammu. Union Minister Jitendra Singh also rushed to his house.

Rana was recently re-elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly from the Nagrota segment of Jammu district, securing the seat for a second term. Earlier he was in the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Party. He joined BJP in 2021 leaving J&KNC.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi, LG of J&K Manoj Sinha and political praternity  across the party line wrote their condolences message on X :
