New Delhi || 31-10-2024 India is celebrating the festival of lights, Diwali today with great enthusiasm. Lamps(Diyas) are lit with Puja being done in their houses. Buildings are decorated with colourful lights. To have the blessings of Mother Laxmi and Lord Shri Ganesh people worshiped in their houses and temples.
Diwali is not only celebrated in India, but around the world as well. Its a festival of joy. It marks the victory of good over evil, light over darkness. On this very day, Diwali Lord Rama, Mata Sita and Laxman returned after 14 years of displacement. They stayed in Jungle which is called Vanbaas. On their return people of Ayodhya lit up thousands of Diyas with joy to welcome Lord Ram. The tradition continues.

The vibration of Diwali is very good. But in recent years Delhi has seen a very bad impact on the environment after Diwali. Everybody knows the reason. Yes, firecrackers . Thing is that even though people know and the Government knows the outcome of fire crackers there is very little care being taken.Fire crackers are easily available and people are not left behind to ignite it knowing the after effect.

According to the data by Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, Pune last week the Air Quality Index of Delhi was touching 350 Mark. The live forecast of the Air Quality Index(AQI) in Delhi shows it will increase in a day or two. It will be in the category of Severe.
Here are some burning questions that arise like why precaution measures are not being taken before it slips from hand? Who is responsible for the availability of fire crackers in the market? Why aren’t Factories, manufacturing fire crackers not been banned? And lastly, why are people burning fire crackers knowing the health effect?
